Staggs Fell triangle : An ordinary XC that turned into a triangle. That's flexible thinking for you! Made the right decisions, just couldn't quite get the last turned point where i wished. (The bugger was it was ) 0.56 less than 25K for the higher multipier! That's number hunting for ya :)

DHPC: Coaching Day - 14th July 2012 : One of those 50/50 days. Bit grey, light winds that got better later (nicely soarable) but buggered by the showers that kept coming through. We flew Wether and later Brantside; a new site for those that joined us. Not a total washout. I got four flights and 50 minutes.

Coaching Day - 21st July 2012 : Coaching Day - quite breezy most places but Brantside delivered although a bit top end at times. Got better later after most had left ... they tell me. Some groundhandling where we did about 90 minutes of useful work.

Stags route challenge : These photos illustrate the route in the forum. They are in order taken on the route. Best conditions are a light to moderate southerly. Good landings are possible along the whole route. You don't need a large amount of height to make the transitions between ridges but a little thermal helps. The run east to Nappa has a ridge half way that helps. You may arrive low at Nappa but it does work from quite low down. The final run east from Nappa follows shallow edges and leads forward to a grassy round-topped outcrop (Ivy Scar) that soars. With a few hundred feet gained here it allows an easy run into good fields near Capperby. Plenty of fields but avoid crop and stock. All points of the route are served by pubs.

Dodd Fell - 11th November 2012 : Excellent flying on Dodd fell - not just better for thermal than Wether, but wave too, The day got better with time until so smooth (bumpy at first) that the last leg of an small O&R (5k) I did totally with hands in pockets.

Extreme Ingleborough : NOT the weather to go up Ingleborough. High winds and heavy snow - not actually snowing, but lots of spindrift and bitterly cold with a high wind chill. Both cameras suffered with lens icing into wind so these are the few pics with any clarity. Made it to final step then thought it better to retreat, given white-out, high winds and top cornice.
