Dennis takes off on Cautley
Great sky but hill was not really working, quite rough, broken and gusty.
Took a chance, pushed forward over hay field's - valley on left, and got a good climb out.
Sorry ...... obligatory! Yarlside NE bowl behind right
What's a smile?
South over the Howgills
Heading more towards Tebay ..... but really just following the working clouds. Convergence line towards Lakes.
Striking south Lakes convergence. Didn't seem to last too long.
Stretching around to the west and north.
Preferred the street to the east. Heading back along the edge of the scar which was working. Dithered a lot near Tebay and was lucky enough to get a second chance.
Nearing the cloud street - see shadows
Appleby ahead. Given a SW wind the ridge may have appealed but the whole ridge seemed fairly blue with the lift line over the valley.
A little cloud flying , very benign really. Setting a compass brearing just in case.
Emeging
Looks gloomy below but was actually in sun.
Looking back south along the street. getting late and middle of the Eden valley lifting off. Murton Pike on the left.
Appleby. Seemed to be here for ages
Cross Fell range, Great Dun Fell with white radar station on top. Dufton Pike right centre
6pm and drifting north in light sink with occasional turns in light lift to top up. Didn't (forgot) to use camera after this point
