Looking back at Wild Boar. Solid climb out after short low scrabble. Little drift.
Chris and I. Climbed to base (5300') and maintained across the Howgills.
In and out of the wispies.
Cautley Spout. Gliders were visible laid out on Great Dummocks.
Crossing the Howgils at height .... less fraught than it can be.
We were basically following a line of cloud into the south Lakes. To the north was a large blue area.
The obvious cloud street ... a convergence line leading along Whinfell/Borrowdale.
Tebay and the M6.
Crossing Kentmere after getting up from a modestly low save.
Ambleside ... sounds of low level jet activity!
Kirkstone Pass and quarries to the north.
OK at this stage, but heading into the Langdales where it got tricky.
Climbing high over Wansfell. Troutbeck valley looking back.
Langdale got tough for a spell and we got separated. I climbed from Harrison Stickle fairly quickly. The Scafells with signs of SB.
Glaramara ahead left. Derwentwater and Skiddaw in far distance. Now trending north.
